If they refuse to provide testimonies, this is a red flag. Reputable companies will be happy to pass on reviews from other customers to help you make up your mind.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DO<\/strong> follow building regulations. Ill-ventilated insulation can cause condensation and become mouldy. Insulation placed over lighting is a fire hazard. The three most common materials used for loft insulation are mineral wool, spray foam, and polyurethane. Average costs are around \u00a335 for materials per m2, and about \u00a3250 each day for labour costs<a href=\"#_edn4\" name=\"_ednref4\">[iv]<\/a>. Blown insulation must be installed by a professional.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What thickness of insulation is recommended for lofts?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The recommended thickness for loft insulation is 270mm or 27cm. This is the minimum thickness to ensure effectiveness.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Can you put stuff on top of the insulation in your loft?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We wouldn\u2019t recommend it.
